Oil painting

This is serious business…and a absurd idea ! Who wants to paint water with oil ? The thing is…I don’t want to paint water, to paint the sea. But the contemplation. That is a quite different story.
I call oilpainting « the tragic mud of Flanders ». It must have been invented to compensate for the panic that seizes yor senses in a dull flemish meadow on a grey november day. Painters had to invent something as majestic as a symphonic orchestra to fill the heart with beauty and light.
